Looks like I’ll be changing my address again. My daughter started a new job in Livingston Parish, about a three hour drive from Lake Charles. My wife wants to relocate to be closer to the grandson. I told her that we’re already close to the grandson that lives in his city. I didn’t argue very hard.
We’ve sold the house and will be moving East in nine days. I’d rather move North and quit the heat and humidity. Oh well, I’ll just have to make sure our new residence has a good air conditioner. In Louisiana, that is more important than fast internet, although not much.
I’ll be missing a lot of things about Lake Charles. It is a good retirement city with lots of entertainment choices. Everything is an easy drive. I have a good doctor with a great staff. I’ll miss the computer club but might still make that drive once a month for the meeting. I’m sure the grandson and I will visit in April for CYPHACON.
Packing up, moving, and unpacking is the easy part of moving. The incidental stuff like address changes, finding a new doctor, finding good places to have my afternoon coffee, finding a pharmacy and all of that kind of stuff is what takes time. At least I don’t have to change my phone number.
Maybe gasoline will be cheaper.
