Over the years, the wife and I have made several trips with\nthem.  On this particular vacation, I had a small incident in the\nshower that reminded me of the cruise line\u2019s catch phrase: \u201cHave\nFun \u2013 Be Safe\u201d.  It got me to thinking that I should write this\nshort article on things I\u2019ve learned to stay safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be careful when\n\tthe elevator stops.  There always seem to be a lot of rude people\n\tthat seem to think they should be the first one to get on.  When\n\tthat door opens, passengers exiting the elevator are in real danger\n\tof getting knocked over.  You need to be extra careful on\n\tembarkation day and debarkation eve when several of the elevators\n\tare shut down for luggage handling.\n\t<\/li><li>If you imbibe\n\tin an occasional alcoholic beverage, be careful you don\u2019t get hit\n\tby a stray punch. I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve ever been on a cruise\n\twithout at least one old fashioned knock down and drag out brawl.\n\t<\/li><li>If you pick up\n\ta souvenir brick while in port, be prepared to get grilled by Ship\u2019s\n\tSecurity.  You can get in on board if you promise that it won\u2019t\n\tshow up in the bar.\n\t<\/li><li>Don\u2019t pass\n\tgas in the shower.  The stalls are not very big and it doesn\u2019t\n\ttake long for the smell to get from the middle of your body to the\n\tregion of your nose.\n\t<\/li><li>If you like to\n\tshop, be extra careful when the ship has a t-shirt sale.  Even\n\tthough they are still expensive, people crowd the sales table like\n\tit is a Black Friday at Walmart.  You will get bumped and pushed.\n\t<\/li><li>The buffet line\n\tcan be extremely hazardous.  Always remember that there are hundreds\n\tof people crowding around the food (especially the dessert bar). \n\tAlways remember that many of them are carrying trays full of food,\n\thot beverages, utensils and more.\n<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, make sure\nyou spend a lot of money in the casino, shops and bars.  This won\u2019t\nmake you any safer, but it will help to make my cruise cheaper.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently returned home from a 28 day cruise on the Carnival Freedom.
